Construction Industry in Ireland Grows at Fastest Rate in Two Decades

Ireland’s construction industry has seen major growth month on month. In 2021 Ireland’s construction output surged 26.3 percent from a year earlier. There is a strong demand for construction services and employment in the sector with contractors showing confidence in current and future developments. It is predicted that the industry will continue to show strong growth in 2022 while meeting pent-up demand.

According to the Central Bank of Ireland investment in building and construction is forecast to grow to approximately 5 per cent in 2022 and 6 per cent in 2023.

The sudden and sustained growth in the construction industry has created unprecedented demand for highly skilled professionals. Projects have been delayed and sometimes shelved due to the difficulty in sourcing suitably qualified and experienced professionals such as Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers.
